Create and manage a Custom Measure

Use Admin → Custom Measures to define a calculation from available measure fields. This guide follows a simple billed-cost definition through creation, editing and duplication. Use the controls available in your tenant; the examples below use Billed Cost and Currency.

Create a definition

  1. Open Admin → Custom Measures and select Create Custom Measure.
  2. Enter a descriptive Name, such as Scaled billed cost. Use Description to explain what the calculation represents.
  3. Set Unit Type to match the calculation. The form offers Currency, Number and Percent. Keep Currency for this billed-cost example.
  4. In Formula, select Insert Variable, then Billed Cost. The selected measure appears as a variable chip.
  5. Check that the formula shows Formula is valid, then select Save.
  6. Confirm the creation-success message and locate the new definition in the list. Check subsequent list pages if necessary. Open its row menu and select Edit to confirm that the name, description and formula were saved.

Change the calculation

Open the definition's row menu and select Edit. To turn the example into a scaled formula, keep the Billed Cost variable and add multiplication by 2, so the editor displays Billed Cost * 2. You can also update the name or description to explain the change.

Check Formula is valid, select Save, and confirm the update-success message. Return to the list and reopen the definition to check the saved formula.

Make a separate copy

Select Duplicate from the source definition's row menu. The new form is prefilled with the source description and formula, and its name includes (Copy). Give the copy a distinct descriptive name and select Save.

Confirm the creation-success message. The original and the new copy should appear as separate list entries; check the names and formulas before making further changes.

Remove an unused definition

Choose the exact definition you intend to remove and select Delete from its row menu. The Delete Custom Measure dialog warns that deletion cannot be undone. Select Cancel if you are unsure, or Confirm to proceed. After confirmation, check the list for the deletion result rather than assuming the dialog alone proves removal.
