How to configure the Recommendations Alert Email

We are excited to offer additional flexibility in receiving notifications about potential recommendations generated in Ternary with our new Recommendations Email configuration. This will help prevent alert fatigue where teams are receiving notifications that are not relevant to them or FinOps teams who have a particular area of focus/goals for optimization opportunities.

It will allow users to filter to a particular set of Sub-accounts or Services that have recommendations in Ternary that they'd like to receive e-mail notifications about. It now also offers an overall Recommendation Summary e-mail.

Enabling Recommendation e-mails

Navigate to your username icon in top right corner -> Select Settings -> Toggle Recommendations to Enabled -> Click Configure

You can now configure the specific settings you'd like to set up for both individual recommendations as well as recommendation summaries.

Define the criteria you would like to filter the recommendations list to for example: GCP -> production accounts -> Google Compute Engine recommendations

If you'd like to receive summary e-mails, you can select the cadence in which you'd like to receive them (Daily, Weekly, Monthly)

Once completed, select Save on the configuration page and then click Submit.
